sudo apt-get install plasma-desktop
If you would rather install the entire Kubuntu (KDE) desktop, run the following command instead.
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
And finally if you want to switch your login manager from GDM to KDM then run the following commands.
sudo apt-get remove gdm sudo apt-get install kdm
